Open Access Resources

The special collection of the Silliman University Library includes rare books, Sillimaniana collection, the World War Records, and Ulahingan. These are digitized so that the physical materials will be preserved since these are already irreplaceable, rare, out of print, and valuable. Access to these special collections are available at the Filipiniana and Sillimaniana Sections of the University Library.

PIDS studies have supported the Philippine government in the formulation of relevant policies and programs that are vital to attain inclusive and sustainable development. To carry out its mandate, the Institute maintains three basic programs: Research, Dissemination and Research Utilization and Outreach.

An Online Catalog is a catalog of bibliographic records of materials available in a particular library. The OPAC of the Silliman University Library System adopts an easy-to-use web-based library automation software called the Destiny Library Manager. 

An online collection of academic publications of different higher education institutions and professional organizations. Its sophisticated database allows users to easily locate abstracts, full journal articles, and links to related research materials.

The mission of Open Access Digital Theological Library (OADTL) is to curate high-quality content in religious studies and related disciplines from publisher websites, institutional repositories, scholarly societies, archives, and stable public domain collections.

FILIPINIANA
LibreTexts is developing the next generation of open-access texts. LibreTexts is a 501 nonprofit online educational resource project. The project provides open access to its content on its website. 

Titles relevant to students in k-12 levels were lifted from various sources that allow for free public use and sharing. International sources of titles include Gutenberg.org and Storyweaver.org.in. Local titles were provided by the Bureau of Learning Resources of the Department of Education of the Philippines.

CD Asia Online is a database of Philippine laws and jurisprudence. The content is gathered only from official sources and includes the complete text, footnotes and images.

Silliman Journal (SJ) is an interdisciplinary peer refereed academic journal of Silliman University. First published in 1954 — with Founding Editor Pedro D. Dimaya, Founding Managing Editor Edith L. Tiempo, and Founding Board of Editors Dioscoro S. Rabor (Biological Sciences), J. Elliott Fisher (Social Sciences), Gerardo A. Imperial (Physical Sciences), and Edilberto K. Tiempo (Humanities) — SJ continues to commit to its mission of providing an avenue for scholarly dialogues not only among members of the Silliman academic community but also among its international readership.
